Everyone is welcome to shop at Eco Loka!
A refill store is designed to help people reduce the volume of packaging that ends up in landfills, incinerators, and our oceans. It works like this: You bring your own reusable container (or buy or borrow one at Eco Loka) and fill it with soap, shampoo, conditioner, cleaner, etc. Eco Loka will also sell other environmentally responsible items that help reduce our impact on the environment.
Everyone is welcome to shop at Eco Loka. Whether you are dedicated to creating a zero-waste household, or you just don't like to throw away your huge plastic laundry detergent container or shampoo bottle every 4 or 5 months. You may already be considering where, and how, your purchases are manufactured. Locally sourced, environmentally sustainable goods and cleaning concentrates will reduce your carbon footprint. Any attempt you make towards reducing your carbon footprint is a step in the right direction and will be beneficial to all beings.
Every drop of rain that falls on the ocean becomes a part of the ocean. Who can say which drop is the most important, or what the ocean would be without any particular drop. One individual’s shopping patterns most probably won’t make a huge difference in the global warming crisis. But if as many of us as possible reduce a little of the trash we discard, or the recycling we hope will actually be reused, it will begin to make a difference. You might be surprised at the changes that you feel on a personal level as you become a better steward and proponent of the earth. You might find that the choice to be more conscious of your consumption is truly effortless. Change begins with individuals, and as more and more of us move towards environmentally conscious packaging (or no packaging) and sustainably resourced items using a morally responsible labor force we will see that eventually mirrored by the mainstream marketplace.
“We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the out world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. We need not wait to see what others do.”
